Privacy Policy

What vorrck.com processes, why it is used, and how you can manage your information.

Who is responsible

Louis Soltys, publishing as Vorrck, is responsible for the personal information processed for this website. Contact soltyslouis62@gmail.com for a privacy question or a request concerning your data.

The website is a public portfolio for independent games, development articles and videos. Visitors do not need to create an account or connect a YouTube or TikTok account to browse it. Social-account authorisation is intended for the creator who manages the website.

Contact messages

If you use the contact form, we receive your name, email address, subject and message. These fields are required to handle the enquiry; you can also email directly. We use them to read your request, reply and maintain the correspondence. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries or, where applicable, taking steps you request before entering into a contract.

The form currently sends messages through FormSubmit. Messages are delivered to the creator’s Gmail mailbox. The delivery provider and Google process the information needed to deliver and store the correspondence. Submitting a message does not subscribe you to a newsletter or make your message public.

Messages are retained while the enquiry and any necessary follow-up are being handled. Continued correspondence, a request for work, a legal obligation or a dispute may require longer retention. Once the exchange and any justified retention need have ended, the correspondence can be deleted. You may request deletion at the contact address above, subject to any applicable retention requirement.

Hosting and protection of the website

The website runs on an OVHcloud VPS. Requests necessarily involve technical information such as your IP address, requested URL and browser information. This information is used to deliver the website, investigate failures and protect it from abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.

The contact endpoint also uses a temporary, hashed network identifier to limit repeated submissions. Its rate-limit window lasts ten minutes; this temporary state is held in server memory. Operational information is kept only for the period needed for service operation or investigation of a technical or security issue. Relevant records may need to be preserved while an incident or legal obligation is being handled.

Sidequests, XP and browser storage

Sidequest progress is saved in your browser’s local storage so that it survives a page refresh. It records the identifiers of the objects you found; XP and the displayed level are calculated from that progress. This progress is not sent to the website’s database and is not synchronised between devices.

It remains on your device until you clear the website’s browser data or your browser removes it. You can browse the site without participating. Clearing local storage removes your saved progress.

Optional audience measurement

When Google Analytics is configured, it is loaded only after you choose to accept analytics. It may process page visits, browser and device information, and interactions such as following a game-store link. This helps us understand how the website is used. Advertising personalisation and Google Signals are disabled in the website’s analytics configuration.

The legal basis is your consent. You can decline without losing access to the website, or change your choice through “Cookie preferences” in the footer when analytics is available. Declining removes the Google Analytics cookies accessible to this website and reloads the page to unload the script. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.

Your analytics choice is recorded locally and treated as valid for 180 days, after which a new choice is required. Google controls the storage of analytics data under the settings of the associated Analytics property and its own policies. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google’s analytics opt-out information.

YouTube API Services

This website uses YouTube API Services to retrieve public video identifiers, titles, descriptions, publication dates, duration, thumbnails, availability and original links from Vorrck’s channel or a selected public playlist. The information is used to present the creator’s videos and link to their original publication. We do not request visitors’ Google passwords, private videos, subscriber lists or permission to upload videos.

Public video metadata is cached to operate the video feed and refreshed periodically. It is not used to build advertising profiles. The legal basis for presenting the creator’s public content is our legitimate interest in maintaining this portfolio. Google’s processing is described in its Privacy Policy, and YouTube features are subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.

The current YouTube connection uses a server-side API key for public content, rather than access to a visitor’s Google account. You can review any Google application permissions you have separately granted in your Google security settings. To request correction or removal of information displayed by this website, contact the address above.

TikTok connection

When the TikTok integration is enabled and authorised by the creator, it uses the official Display API to retrieve that account’s public video identifiers, titles or descriptions, dates, duration, thumbnails and original links. The purpose is to show the creator’s development videos on this public portfolio. This connection does not publish videos, send messages, access private posts or retrieve visitors’ TikTok accounts.

Account access depends on the account holder’s explicit authorisation and the permissions granted through TikTok. Access and refresh tokens are kept privately on the server, with refreshed token state encrypted at rest, and are not sent to visitors. Video metadata is refreshed periodically through an operational cache. The website does not sell this information or use it to create advertising profiles.

The account holder can withdraw the website’s authorisation through TikTok’s connected-app settings and can request deletion of stored connection information by emailing the address above. Withdrawal stops future authorised access; a deletion request covers stored tokens and associated cached connection data, except information that must be kept by law. Publicly published videos remain controlled by their owner on TikTok. TikTok’s own privacy and account controls apply when you use its services.

Third-party images and links

Video thumbnails may load directly from YouTube or TikTok image servers, which receive the technical information needed to serve the image. Video cards open the original publication on YouTube or TikTok in a new tab. This website does not load embedded video players. Once you open a video on its platform, that provider may process your IP address, device information, cookies and viewing interactions under its own policies. The website cannot control the provider’s account or cookie settings.

Links to external platforms such as YouTube, TikTok, Steam and itch.io take you to services with their own terms and privacy practices. Information you provide directly to them is handled by those providers.

Recipients and international processing

Contact correspondence is accessible to the creator and the service providers needed to deliver it. Website operation also involves OVHcloud, and the optional features described above involve Google and TikTok. These services may process information outside the European Economic Area depending on their infrastructure and your use of their services. Their privacy notices explain applicable locations, transfer arrangements and controls. Contact us if you need information about the providers involved in a particular request.

We do not sell visitors’ personal information. Information may be disclosed where required by applicable law or where necessary to investigate abuse and protect legal rights. There is no visitor profiling that produces decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

Your rights and choices

Where data-protection law applies, you can request access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, object to processing based on legitimate interests, request restriction, and request portability where applicable. You can withdraw consent for processing based on consent. These rights may have legal conditions or exceptions.

Email soltyslouis62@gmail.com with enough information to identify the relevant exchange or connected account. We may request proportionate verification if needed to protect the information. We will respond within the applicable legal timeframe. Do not send identity documents unless specifically needed and requested.

You may also complain to your competent data-protection authority, including the CNIL in France. See the CNIL’s explanation of data-protection rights.

This policy may change when the website or its integrations change. The date at the top identifies the current version. You can always find this page in the website footer. The Terms of Service describe the conditions for using the website.
